South Bay Cities Council of Governments is a joint powers of authority of 16 cities and the County of Los Angeles that share the goal of maximizing the quality of life and productivity of the South Bay region. It accomplishes this by working on issues of mutual interest to its constituents including water/energy efficiency via the Environmental Services Center; transportation issues–specifically its South Bay Measure R and M Programs; the South Bay Fiber Network; livable communities, including addressing homelessness; seniors issues; climate action planning, including its advocacy of fleet conversion to electric vehicles and use of slow speed vehicles for local trips for improved air quality, and more.
